Tennis…only in Punta Cana! Check out the Majestic Mirage, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Dates Visited: April 29-May 3, 2017 When choosing a Caribbean tennis destination, there are many reasons why you should consider Majestic Mirage, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The Majestic has three properties, the Majestic Colonial, The Majestic Elegance and The Majestic Mirage. We stayed at the Majestic Mirage. I would like to share a few things about the Majestic Mirage that made my stay, including tennis, fitness, and the beach!

The Mirage hosts several restaurants, many bars, a spa and entertainment area for their daily evening shows. The three properties share the resort’s’ tennis courts. The tennis courts are located within walking distance from the Mirage. The resort has four lit hard court, tennis courts and one sports court. There is a Tennis Pro on staff who will hit with you for $30 USD per hour. This is great if you travel with someone who doesn’t play tennis, but you still want to play tennis. The tennis hut also has loaner racquets and tennis balls in case you left your racquet at home. Despite two days of heavy rain, we were surprised that the courts were dry on the third day, allowing us to play our singles tennis game on the Majestic tennis courts. There are daily organized tennis activities ranging from doubles round robins and junior clinics, posted at the resorts, as well as the tennis courts.

So, what do you do when it rains in Punta Cana? I found an impressive, staffed fitness center at the Majestic Mirage. The fitness center boasts all a very clean, new, work out equipment and weights, as well as a fitness room. The fitness center also provides daily classes, ranging from Pilates to Spinning. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and provided with a towel and water bottle. I enjoyed the fitness center so much, I looked forward to going back each day! So rain or shine, you can definitely get a workout in at this resort!

The beach boasts caribbean, soft white sand and ocean as far as you can see. Imagine relaxing on the beach, and then hearing energetic latin music playing on the beach. I jumped out of my lounge to check it out…and joined in the Zumba dancing on the beach, at water’s edge…and in the water! After playing tennis, working out, and then dancing on the beach, the lounge chairs/beds are super inviting, as the ocean air lulls you into relaxation. Ultimately, I felt that the Majestic Mirage fulfilled my tennis, fitness and relaxation needs!
